UK productions win three awards
Theatre troupe Swapnadal�s `Tringsha Shatabdee', an anti-war drama, has been selected as the lone production from Bangladesh to take part in the �Bharat Rang Mahotsav�, India's national theatre festival, to be held in New Delhi in February next year. Led by Zahid Repon, Swapnadal is all set to perform at the theatre carnival. In all, 12 countries have been selected for this prestigious event.
A team of delegates from Bangladesh ITI participated in the 34th World Congress of International Theatre Institute held on November 17-22 in Armenia�s capital Yerevan. Led by Bangladesh ITI president Nasiruddin Yusuf, the eight-man team included World ITI president Ramendu Majumder, Prof Abdus Selim, Prof Shafi Ahmad, Dr Israfil Shahin, Ahmed Iqbal Haider, Syed Dulal and Babul Biswas. A total of 350 delegates including dramatists, directors, dancers and other personalities from different sections of drama from 60 countries, joined the congress.
