ECNEC includes BPPA CEO as assisting officer

Abu Sayed Md Kamruzzaman, chief executive officer (CEO) of the Bangladesh Public Procurement Authority (BPPA) and secretary to the government, has been included in the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) as an assisting officer.
A circular in this regard was issued from the Cabinet Division on 15 October 2026, with immediate effect. According to the circular, signed by the additional secretary (committee and economic), the terms of reference and other aspects of the committee will remain unchanged.
Kamruzzaman has extensive expertise in development project management, public procurement management, digital transformation, cybersecurity and institutional development. He is an enlisted trainer of the Ministry of Public Administration and has delivered lectures at leading training institutions at home and abroad.
Headed by the prime minister, ECNEC is the highest executive body responsible for reviewing and approving public investment and development projects.
