NCC Bank taps Tk2,000cr green, ICT refinance schemes

NCC Bank has joined two Bangladesh Bank refinance schemes with a combined fund size of Tk2,000 crore to support green industries and technology-driven projects.
The bank recently signed separate agreements with the central bank to participate in the Refinance Scheme for Green Factory Building and Green Industry Sector and the Refinance Scheme for Development of the Information and Communication Technology Sector, according to a press release.
Each scheme has a Tk1,000 crore fund and will support financing for green factories, environment-friendly industrial infrastructure and ICT-based initiatives. The facilities will also help existing industries upgrade to more resource-efficient and environmentally compliant production systems.
At a ceremony at the central bank’s head office, NCC Bank Managing Director M Shamsul Arefin and BB Sustainable Finance Department Director AKM Nurunnabi signed the agreements on behalf of their respective institutions.
