Sammilito Islami Bank board orders faster loan recovery

The board of directors of state-owned Sammilito Islami Bank PLC has directed the management to intensify loan recovery efforts and speed up regular banking operations.
The directives came at the bank’s 14th board meeting on Sunday, which also reviewed overall banking activities and approved investment proposals, according to a press release.
Quazi Shairul Hassan, chairman of the bank’s board, presided over the meeting at the bank’s head office in Dhaka.
The board members present were Lt Col (Retd) Md Khan Sobayel Bin Rafiq PhD, Asma Akhter FCA, KM Zakaria and Mohammed Ahsan Habib FCA.
Managing Director Abedur Rahman Sikder and Company Secretary (CC) Md Monirul Islam also attended the meeting.
