Meghna Bank joins Tk2,000cr green, ICT funding schemes

Meghna Bank PLC has signed two participation agreements with Bangladesh Bank (BB) to provide refinance-backed financing to eligible businesses in the green factory, green industry and ICT sectors.
The agreements cover BB’s Tk1,000 crore Refinance Scheme for Green Factory Building & Green Industry and another Tk1,000 crore Refinance Scheme for Development of the ICT Sector, according to a press release.
Under the schemes, eligible businesses and projects will be able to access financing through Meghna Bank, subject to the respective BB guidelines and eligibility requirements.
The arrangements are aimed at supporting investment in green factory buildings, sustainable industries and ICT-sector initiatives.
Md Sadiqur Rahman, additional managing director of Meghna Bank, Mohammad Sohel Miah, SEVP and head of SME Banking Division, and Mohammad Hossain Razu, SME & Agri Banking, represented the bank at the signing ceremony.
AKM Nurunnabi, director of the Sustainable Finance Department, and Md Tohidul Islam, additional director of the department, represented BB.
The agreements will allow Meghna Bank to extend refinance-backed funding to eligible customers under the two BB schemes.
