ONE Bank joins Tk5,000cr CMSME refinance scheme

ONE Bank PLC has joined Bangladesh Bank’s Tk5,000 crore Working Capital Refinance Fund, opening access to lower-cost working capital financing for cottage, micro, small and medium enterprises (CMSMEs).
The bank signed a participation agreement with the central bank at its head office recently, according to a press release.
In the presence of BB Deputy Governor Md Anis Ur Rahman, Director of SME & Special Programmes Department Md Zabdul Islam and ONE Bank Deputy Managing Director and Head of Financial Services and Public Sector Kazi Ziaul Islam signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.
BB Executive Director Nahid Rahman, Additional Director Shahahnaj Pervin and ONE Bank Senior Executive Vice President and Head of Commercial and SME Business Newaz Khalid Ahmed were also present.
The refinance scheme is part of the central bank’s Tk60,000 crore stimulus framework and aims to improve CMSMEs’ access to working capital at lower interest rates.
