Prime Minister Tarique Rahman visited an opposition lawmaker who fell ill during a session of the National Parliament (Jatiya Sangsad) on Wednesday.

MP Hafez Rabiul Bashar of the Satkhira-3 constituency became unwell around 1:40pm during the first phase of the session.

Fellow lawmakers and parliamentary staff assisted him out of the chamber and took him to the lobby, where doctors provided initial treatment.

During the Zuhr prayers break, the prime minister went to the parliament lobby to inquire about his condition and instructed officials to ensure necessary medical support.
