Seven senior police officials reshuffled; new heads for SRB, Industrial Police, GMP

The government on Tuesday transferred and reassigned seven senior officers of the BCS (Police) cadre, including five of additional IGP rank, in a reshuffle that affects the SRB, Highway Police, Industrial Police and the Gazipur Metropolitan Police.
According to a gazette notification issued by the Police-1 branch of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the reshuffle takes immediate effect “in the public interest”.
Under the order, Md Ahsan Habib Palash, director general (additional IGP) of the Special Response Battalion (SRB), has been made additional IGP at Police Headquarters.
Faruk Ahmed, additional IGP of Highway Police, replaces him as director general (additional IGP) of the SRB.
Md Sayedur Rahman, additional IGP at Police Headquarters, has been transferred to Highway Police as additional IGP.
Gazi Jashim Uddin, additional IGP of Industrial Police, has been appointed additional IGP of the Police Telecom Organisation at Rajarbagh in the capital.
Md Israil Howlader, police commissioner (DIG) of Gazipur Metropolitan Police, who has been promoted to additional IGP, takes charge as additional IGP of Industrial Police.
Md Ashik Saeed, DIG of Rajshahi Range, has been made police commissioner (DIG) of Gazipur Metropolitan Police.
Ashraf Ali, DIG of Railway Police, has been posted as DIG of Rajshahi Range.
The order was signed by Deputy Secretary Touhif Ahmed on behalf of the President.
