Army chief on official visit to US

Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman is on an official visit to the United States.
He departed Dhaka for the visit on Saturday, according to a press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Sunday.
During the tour, General Waker is scheduled to attend a special event at the Georgia State Capitol, where a resolution will be received recognising the commendable contributions of Bangladeshi peacekeepers to United Nations peacekeeping missions.
He will also take part in a special lecture session at the Senate Chamber.
In addition, the army chief is expected to hold bilateral meetings with relevant US officials during the visit.
