Jebunnessa Begum, wife of distinguished freedom fighter and renowned lawyer Advocate Badiul Alam and mother of Honorary Consul of Democratic Republic of Congo and media personality Ziauddin Adil, also CEO of Top of Mind, died on Friday.

She breathed her last at the age of 88 at Baridhara DOHS residence in the capital, says a press release.

She left behind seven daughters, two sons, grandsons and daughters, and a host of well-wishers to mourn her death.

Her first namaj-e-janaza was held after Jummah prayer at Baridhara DOHS mosque where the relatives, media persons and people of all walks of like attended.

Her second janaza will be held today at Chittagong Bahaddarhat mosque after Zahr prayer. Her last Janaza will be held at Fatenagar Shikder Bari jame mosque after Asr prayer in the day. Then, she will be laid to eternal rest at her family graveyard in Chattogram.

A doa mahfil has been arranged to pray for her departed soul.

Advocate Badiul Alam was the president of Chittagong district Awami League during the Liberation War and then president of Chittagong South district Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD). After independence, he was elected vice-president of Chittagong district Lawyers Association in 1972 and president of the same organisation in 1982.
