RAJSHAHI: Three food shops were fined Tk 17,000 on charges of selling unhygienic and substandard foods to the customers in the city on Monday.
A team of Department of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP) conducted the raid in Nawdapara and BSCIC areas and found Misty Bari, Muskan Hotel and Jamil Hotel for preparing, possessing and selling food items in unhygienic condition and substandard way.
Subsequently, the team fined the shop owners Tk 17,000 and realised the money instantly.
Assistant Director of DNCRP, Apurba Kumar Adhikary, told BSS that such drive against the violations of consumers rights will continue in the days ahead. — BSS
