Arranging an expo on a specific RMG product helps add value to the apparel industry, as it gathers people with that particular product from around the globe under one umbrella.
The industry leaders and buyers’ country representatives made the remarks at Bangladesh Denim Expo at International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in the capital on Monday.
Bangladesh Denim Expo, a non-profit and non-government organisation organised the international denim trade show with the theme “Denim Evolutions” in Bangladesh to promote the Brand Bangladesh in the global denim industry.
Netherlands Ambassador to Bangladesh Leoni Margaretha Cuelenaere said, “This is really a great job done by the Bangladesh Denim Expo to brand denim products.”
Bangladesh produces best products and its factories are meeting the sustainable manufacturing conditions and are not using much water, electricity and other natural resources, she said.
The expo helps allow people across the globe to know Bangladesh. There are big factories which produce denim products for renowned brand like H&M, Zara, Inditex.
In the BATEXPO, there was a platform for the industry to get together that made a huge gathering of all the stakeholders.
The expo helps manufacturers add value. In the expo, different types of manufactures, who produces higher products join and local people can be enriched by it, he added.
“Currently, Bangladesh is producing basic fabrics to middle-high fabrics. But we are installing high technology that would be able to produce standard fabrics,” said Kazi Obaidur Rahman, AGM, Marketing and R&D of Shasha Denim.
In the expo, One can read the latest trends of denim fabrics and products and the capacity of the country is increasing day by day, he said.
The aim of the expo is to improve the country’s reputation as a denim manufacturer and the Denim Expo has been successfully doing this. It has already become a much-waited event in the international denim calendar, Mustafiz Uddin said.
